Do you remember when I wrote about waiting for the right person to come along?
Do you remember how I told you it would be hard?
Do you remember I told you that it would be worth it?
I can now tell you that I am 100% sure that it will be worth it.
Yes, that is an engagement ring. And yes, it is mine.
Jesse Schools asked me to marry him on Thursday, April 24th. I said yes.
Until I met Jesse, I had only had one other boyfriend, but we mostly just talked online, and I never ever kissed him or anything like that.
In fact, I had never kissed anyone until after Jesse and I were engaged, not even him.
It may seem ridiculous to a lot of people, but I can honestly say that I am very glad that I didn't date around, and that I didn't go off giving my affection to other people before Jesse. It's all been for only him. And he was the same way. He was 20 years old before he had his first kiss, before he even had his first girlfriend, and that was all me.
It's a wonderful feeling to know that someone out there waited for you because they didn't want to find someone less than perfect for them. And it's also a wonderful feeling to have waited for someone else in the same way. Because I don't have any unnecessary emotional or physical baggage.
I'm not saying that I never had a crush in all my years, I'm pretty sure that's impossible. But I've only ever fallen in love with Jesse, and crush is fleeting and goes away.
I only have about 4 weeks to plan the wedding, because May 25th, Jesse's 21st birthday, is the date. It's going to be a difficult 4 weeks, because we have a lot of work to do, and it's not going to be very easy. But I have a lot of loving family and friends who have offered to help with anything they can. Jesse is going to be working a lot, because we are buying a house. It's a lot to handle, but it's very very exciting.
I hope that anyone who has been reading my blog and following my story has been encouraged. Don't worry, it is possible to wait for the one that God has for you, you don't have to test everyone out.
I love you guys!!! I'll try to write again, but I am going to be very busy!
Cheers!!
