Government shut down?

The government shut down! Oh no! How will we survive?

No but seriously, I think this is a stupid idea.

I'm just going to warn you now that this is probably just going to be ranting and a lot of opinion.

Okay. So from what I understand, the Democrats want to pass Obamacare, but the Republicans know that we don't have money for that, so the Republicans said that either the senate had to decided last night on the budget, or today all non-essential government has to shut down.

Guess what happened.

Today all the 'non-essential' government was shut down.

That means the government sponsored libraries, Parkway facilities, government sponsored museums, NASA, and other things like that. I'm still not sure about the US Postal service. I think it will still run, I'm pretty sure that it is seen as an independent business unit.

One concern of mine was that our military would not get paid. From what I understand though, that is not true and they are still getting their paychecks, and the VA is still open.

But no, the senate is not taking a paycut.

Basically all that happened is that they are cutting out the facilities that the people actually use.

I personally think that they are just trying to annoy the snot out of us so we will agree to pay more. If they really wanted to fix the budget problem, there are much simpler ways to do that. How about a paycut from the tons and tons of money the senate gets?

It was a bad idea in the first place to hand a politician and blank check and tell them to decide the budget and make sure they get their own paycheck in there.

Oh, or how about this: we could stop paying for public schools and abortions! I don't use the public school system, and I'm not having abortions. I shouldn't have to pay for them.

Oh, but never mind, I forgot, we all have to work together and make sure that it's fair for everyone, this is the land of the free, we should be free to send the kids to public schools for indoctrination and free to murder the unwanted children when we can't control our urges.

Silly me.

Seriously though, call me paranoid or a conspiracy theorist if you want to, but this whole mess is probably a cover up for something else. You can look at almost any major event in America like this and it's usually a cover up for something else.

Obama (and no, I will not call him president because he cheated to get into office) doesn't care about us, nor does the senate really.

Obamacare isn't going to help people. It's going to force people into doing something that they don't want.

"Hey guys, what can we do to make sure that even poor people get the health care they need?"

"I know! Let's force *everyone* to *buy* health care, and then make it super expensive, but tack on extra fees if they don't pay for it!"

Yes, what a great plan!

Either they are all money hungry jerks or a bunch of morons. I'm going with both.

I'm pretty sure that at this point, you could give the country to a monkey and they could run it better.

The Democrats are so hell bent on making sure that Obamacare comes about that they don't care about the consequence. The Republicans think it's a terrible idea (I agree) and offered to pay to keep the government going, just so long as Obamacare got canned.

What ever happened to by the people, for the people? I really don't think that what is happening is really for the people.

Wouldn't it make sense to decide on the budget then start spending the money? But nooooo, they decided to keep spending the money, the budget can come later.

Really, this whole things boils down to Obamacare. If they had actually read the bill (which they didn't) it probably wouldn't have been passed. The bill was 20,000 pages.

Behold, the red tape tower.

It's no wonder that nobody read it. The red tape tower is all the regulations for Obamabare, not the bill itself. For all we know, there could be something in there saying that after Obamacare comes into action, we have to launch a nuclear strike against Africa, then attack Afghanistan, all the while Muslims are free to take over our country, and we are only allowed to have one child per family. Who knows what's in there?

I really don't know why the American people are putting up with this. It's rubbing everyone the wrong way. If there is one thing that pretty much all Americans want, it's fairness. It doesn't matter your age, gender, race, religion, Americans are obsessed with treating everyone equal, and right now, the government isn't treating us very fair at all. There may not be Greasers and Socs among the people anymore, but that class system didn't die. The government just took on the role of Socs and left all of us to be Greasers.

This 'budget cut' is only going to cause trouble. In the area I live, our economy is dependent on the leaf-lookers this time of year who come up here to camp and drive around on the Parkway. With a lot of the Parkway shutting down, that is going to force everyone to go home, causing major issues for our economy.

Obamacare isn't going to help us out at all. It's going to shut down small, locally owned businesses, it's going to cause turmoil in economies, and it's going to force us to either depend on the government and big corporations or starve.

I guess they are getting what they wanted.

I could go on for hours about how stupid this all is, and the countless number of ways that we could fix this problem, but I am going to let the matter rest. I've said my piece, as I'm sure countless others are doing right now. I know as a fact that most of my friends are scathing, or at least severely annoyed at our governments incompetence to so much as decide on a budget.

I am only one person. I'm not even 18 yet, and so I don't really have much of a say in what our country says or does. I'm as of yet unemployed and don't pay taxes. I don't use the public school systems. I am basically just a face in the crowd, and not a face that shines either. I may have a voice, but not many will listen. I really am just a nobody in this situation. I have absolutely now earthly power to stop this.

All I have is prayer. I will pray for this country and it's leaders. I will pray for the people who are going to suffer from this ridiculousness. I will pray that our Heavenly Father will give wisdom to those in power over us.

This might scare some people, but I really do believe that we are seeing the end of the world as we know it (admit it, you sang the song).

But if we are believers in the one true God, then we really don't have to worry. While America might be going to hell in a handbasket, we aren't. We just need to continue to Praise our Father for the time we have on Earth, even if it's not the ideal setting. He knows what he is doing.

I want to thank my friend, John Stephens, for pointing that out. The only thing we can do is pray. You're a pretty smart guy John.

While things might be falling apart, and our leaders in America are all idiotic monkeys who only do things for their own selfish purpose, we still can lean on the Rock who has been here this whole time.

Cheers!
